Ilyushin IL-76MD-90A is a new military transport aircraft (code 
name: IL-476) developed by Ilyushin Aviation Complex, a subsidiary of 
United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). It is a modernised version of the 
IL-76MD which itself is based on the <a class="externalLink" href="http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/il76/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">IL-76</a> cargo aircraft platform.<br />
<br />
The IL-76MD-90A cargo aircraft is manufactured at the Aviastar-SP 
production facility in Ulyanovsk. The factory test flight of the first 
IL-76MD-90A was concluded in January 2013.<br />
<br />
The aircraft successfully completed its maiden flight test in March 
2013, near Moscow. It flew at altitudes of 2,000m to 10,000m for a 
period of one hour and 55 minutes during the test flight.<br />
<br />
The flight test programme of IL-76MD-90A is expected to conclude by the third quarter of 2014.<br />
<br />
IL-76MD-90A is developed to transport a range of military equipment, 
armed personnel, heavy and long size vehicles and cargoes. It will also 
be used in parachuting cargo / troops and other air borne cargo

The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a $4bn contract with UAC 
for the delivery of 39 IL-76MD-90A aircraft, in October 2012. The 
deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2014.<br />

The IL-76MD-90A is based on the same airframe and fuselage of IL-76 
aircraft. The cargo aircraft integrates advanced features such as 
redesigned wing section, new cockpit with modern avionics and powerful 
engines.<br />
<br />
The aircraft has a length of 46.6m, height of 14.76m, wing span of 
50.50m and a wing area (trapezoidal) of 300m². The landing gear track 
(outer wheels) and fuselage mid-section diameter of the aircraft are 
8.16m and 4.8m respectively.<br />
<br />
The IL-76MD-90A has a maximum take-off weight of 210t and can carry a 
maximum payload of 52t. It can accommodate up to five crew members.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 18px;"><b>Cockpit and avionics of the Ilyushin aircraft</b></span><br />
The advanced glass cockpit of the IL-76MD-90A is installed with three 
intelligent control panels and a KSEIS-KN-76 aircraft status master 
monitor display system with eight multifunctional liquid crystal 
displays. The glass cabin provides better view to the cabin crew.<br />
<br />
The IL-76MD-90A also integrates a digital ACS-76 auto flight control 
system and a new Kupol-III-76M flight sight navigation system with a 
display indication.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 18px;"><b>IL-76MD-90A cargo handling capabilities</b></span><br />
The cargo cabin of the aircraft is designed with a length of 24.5m (with
 ramp), width of 3.45m, and height of 3.4m. The cargo cabin offers an 
interior volume of 321m³.<br />

Il-76MD-90A is capable of carrying 126 parachutists or 145 troops in 
single deck arrangement and 225 troops in double-deck arrangement. It 
can also be installed with special equipment to carry 114 injured

The aircraft is installed with an Aerial-Delivery System (ADS) for 
dropping of cargoes, transportation of armed forces cargo containers and
 pallets, and troop parachutes.<br />
<br />
The ADS installed onboard the IL-76MD-90A facilitates dropping of 
parachutists from an altitude of 8,000m at 220km/h to 400km/h speeds. It
 also enables equipment dropping with the help of parachutes from 
altitudes of 300m to 4,000m at 260km/h to 400km/h speeds.<br />
<br />
The cargo dropping system aboard the aircraft ensures the dropping of 
platforms laden with shipments and equipment. The under-ladder devices, 
roller ways and winches in the cabin allow the loading of cargoes and 
equipment into the aircraft.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 18px;"><b>Engine of Russia's Ilyushin military cargo aircraft</b></span><br />
IL-76MD-90A is installed with four fourth generation PS-90A-76 turbofan 
bypass engines with 4:4 bypass ratios.<br />
Each engine develops a maximum 
continuous thrust of 14,500kgf.<br />
It consumes 12% lesser fuel and offers 
an increased flight range of 18%.<br />
<br />
The PS-90A-76 engine on board the IL-76MD-90A aircraft is compliant with
 latest ICAO requirements for noise and emission levels.<br />
An Auxiliary 
Power Unit (APU) TA-12A is installed onboard the aircraft.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 18px;"><b>Performance of the IL-76MD-90A</b></span><br />
The aircraft can cruise at a speed of 820-850km/h. It can fly at a 
maximum altitude of 12,000m.<br />
The maximum range of the aircraft is

DTI (Defence Technology Institute) DTI 8x8 wheeled armored vehicles were
 tested for the first time since the prototype armored wheeled up.<br />

The use of high-performance vehicles from all over the world as a 
comparison, and research and development to design high-performance 
vehicles, wheeled armored wheeled equivalent to those of other

today was a test of long-distance running distance by 64 kilometers  at a
 distance of 8 kilometers long and 4 test : the performance of the car 
in the preliminary round, turning to accelerate testing of the engine 
and the car's electronic systems to work effectively for the first time 
today.Due to weather conditions the rain in some parts of the test. But 
the car was still working as designed. The car will run at an average 
speed of 40-60 kilometers per hour. And checking the availability of the
 car when the car ran half the given distance.<br />
Today's test was a success as anticipated, however, DTI will test the 
performance of the car constantly. In order to master 8x8 armored 
wheeled vehicles are manufactured with the first cars made in Thailand 
is available for evaluation and testing of the next user.</div>

Concerns are growing that the KF-X project to develop indigenous fighter
 jets may not go forward as scheduled due to the failure to receive four
 core technologies on F-35 stealth fighters from Lockheed Martin.<br />
<br />
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said that the 
nation will push for cooperation with other foreign firms or 
autonomously develop the technologies.<br />
<br />
However, a DAPA official said Thursday that this would consequently delay the 8.5 trillion won project, codenamed KF-X.<br />
<br />
Lawmakers on the National Assembly Defense Committee and defense 
watchers said the failure to receive the four would cause a rise in 
production costs as well, and a problem in interoperability with other 
equipment, which will be mainly based on American technology.<br />
<br />
The KF-X project calls for developing fighter jets of the F-16 plus 
class to replace an aging fleet of F-4s and F-5s by 2025. Some 120 jets 
are to be built.<br />
<br />
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) started the project in March with a 
plan to secure technological assistance from the U.S. defense giant. 
When the DAPA signed a 7.3 trillion won deal with Lockheed in September 
last year to purchase 40 F-35s, it said Korea would receive a total of 
25 F-35 related technologies under the offset program.<br />
<br />
In less than a year, however, the KF-X program encountered difficulties 
as the four ― the active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, 
infrared search and track (IRST), electronic optics targeting pod 
(EOTGP) and RF jammer ― are at the heart of the jet development.<br />
<br />
"It depends on the performance of the radar, but developing an AESA 
radar will take 20 to 30 years if you currently have no technology about
 it," said a military official asking not to be named.<br />
<br />
Rep. Ahn Gyu-baek of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for 
Democracy (NPAD) noted, "Even if Korea develops the core technologies, 
there would be a compatibility problem with the U.S.," referring to the 
21 other technologies.<br />
<br />
Defense observers said a possible interoperability problem also applies 
if the nation receives the technologies from other foreign companies.<br />
<br />
They added even if Korea completes the development of the four, there 
remain further questions as to how to integrate them with aircraft.<br />
<br />
"Consequently, the failure to receive them from the U.S. could deal a 
setback to the KF-X project," said Hong Sung-pyo, KBS's defense news 
commentator. "How to secure the four technologies is a mission that 
absolutely needs to be addressed."<br />
<br />
Rep. Yoo Seong-min of the ruling Saenuri Party called the technology 
transfers to be included on the agenda of the Seoul-Washington summit or
 the two countries' defense ministers' talks.<br />
<br />
The DAPA official said, "We will utilize technologies accumulated while 
developing the KT-1, T-50 and KUH. We will prepare countermeasures to 
secure technologies that the U.S. refused to hand over."<br />

The report mentions a planned project which would see the development of China's first domestically-made <span style="color: red;">turbofan-ramjet combined cycle engine</span>,
 designed for an unnamed aircraft. The description of this engine 
suggests something resembling the Pratt and Whitney J58 variable cycle 
engine used by the SR-71 Blackbird.<br />

A source close to the PLA Air Force was cited by New Outlook as stating that this is <span style="color: red;">part of a project to develop a manned supersonic aircraft</span>,
 currently in the preparation stages at a domestic research institute. 
The aircraft is expected to have a top speed faster than the Blackbird 
on completion, according to the source, although the project is yet to 
be formally launched.<br />
<br />
The China Aviation News report stated that in the first half of 2015, 
the engine division of AVIC Qingan Group finished the design process for
 three engine products and gained approval for them in May and July.<br />
<br />
The article went on to list descriptions of the three engines as China's
 first domestically developed turbofan-ramjet combined cycle engine 
designed for an unnamed aircraft, a classic model engine and a classic 
model engine with a medium bypass ratio. This suggests the latter two 
are improved versions of the WS-10 and WS-18 turbofan engines.<br />
<br />
The turbofan-ramjet combined cycle engine project, however, has never 
before been made public. The article stated that there is no precedent 
for the project and that China currently has no suitable heat-resistant 
materials for the project and therefore will have to contract overseas 
suppliers, adding that without the appropriate tools, they will have to 
go about making them from scratch.<br />

A PLA Air Force source told New Outlook that the aircraft that <span style="color: red;">will use this engine has been in experimental development for several years by an aircraft institute in the southwest.</span> The aim of the project is to surpass the SR-71 Blackbird with a plane that can reach<span style="color: red;"> speeds of almost five-times the speed of sound,</span>
 which is the upper limit of a ramjet engine. For higher speeds, a 
supersonic combusting ramjet (scramjet) engine is necessary. </div>

The DF-ZF can also be armed with a conventional warhead, making it

Scientists have discovered a “super material” that is a light
 as a balloon yet as strong as metal, which could be developed by the 
mainland’s military into armour that protects troops and tanks without 
sacrificing mobility, a mainland study reports.<br />

The foam-like material was created when tiny tubes of graphene were 
formed into a cellular structure that had the same stability as a 
diamond, said the study led by researchers at the Chinese Academy of 
Sciences’ Shanghai Institute of Ceramics.<br />
<br />
Graphene, an extremely thin sheet of carbon with extraordinary 
properties, has attracted great interest among researchers in recent 
years.<br />
It is about 207 times stronger than steel by weight and able to conduct heat and electricity with very high efficiency.<br />
<br />
However, the new material was able to support something that was 
40,000 times its own weight without bending, said the report in the 
latest issue of the journal, Advanced Materials.<br />
One piece of the graphene foam withstood the impact of a blow that 
had a force of more than 14,500 pounds per square inch – almost as much 
pressure as is experienced at the deepest depth of the world’s ocean – 
about 10.9km – known as Challenger Deep, in the Mariana Trench, off the 
coast of the US island of Guam.<br />
<br />
The Shanghai research team said their newly created material could 
withstand more external shocks than other previously reported graphene 
materials.<br />
It could also be squashed to just 5 per cent of its original size and
 still return to its original shape, and remained intact after the 
process was repeated 1,000 times.<br />
The properties of the new material meant one possible use could be as
 cushion under the surface of bulletproof vests and on the outside of 
tanks to absorb the shocks from incoming projectiles, the study said.<br />
