<a href="http://news.ifeng.com/a/20160622/49214461_0.shtml" target="_blank">A report on June 22</a>, Professor Chen Guang’s success in developing an 
aircraft engine material much better than US best alloy for aircraft 
engine.<br />
<br />
It seems that the new alloy will allow an engine built with it to operate at 150-200 degrees celsius higher temperature. <br />
<br />
Chen has achieved the success through long-term research with 
the funding from Nanjing Polytechnic University and the state’s Program 
973.<br />
<br />
Prof. Chen’s achievement, Polysynthetic twinned TiAl (PST TiAl) 
single crystals for high-temperature applications, was published on the 
Internet at <a href="http://www.nature.com/nmat/journal/v15/n8/full/nmat4677.html" target="_blank">Natural Materials</a> on June 20.<br />

General Electric development of the Titanium alloy Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb 
(Alloy 4822) as a critical technology for the GEnx engine used in the 
Boeing 787.<br />
Alloy 4822 was hailed as a sensational success in the development of 
aircraft engine materials as it reduces the weight of an aircraft engine
 by 200 pounds, fuel consumption by 20% and discharge of NOx by 80% and 
significantly lowered engine noise.<br />

At room temperature, PST TiAl has high tensile ductility of 6.9%, 
yield strength of 708 MPa and tensile strength of 978 MPa, a wonderful 
combination of ductility and strength.<br />
<br />
What is more important for aircraft engine alloy, at the high 
temperature of 900℃ its yield and tensile strength is still as high as 
637MPa and it has wonderful creep resistance. Its minimum creep rate and
 lasting life are <a href="http://www.nature.com/articles/nmat4677.epdf?shared_access_token=xf4x1O7evy7hllqZgMXkBdRgN0jAjWel9jnR3ZoTv0M_PZh_tPhR4KvGgIaM2O8xYaOPsST-H6ZQHzSgjpYlHE16Bcymx4aK9QiHHfQ4GSSNyFEKZwoZ34gcy_Gr6uKoPKnuQqffMsx9FUvB8ECV5uuHwsef-gXOBo3sWNTdsDs%3D" target="_blank">better than Alloy 4822 by one to two magnitudes</a>.<br />
It is
 hopeful that the allow may be used above 900℃ much higher that the 
650~750℃ for Alloy 4822.<br />

Judging by its shape, the submarine perhaps carries lateral sonar array for higher precision of sonar surveillance.<br />
The appearance of the photo confirms Western media’s speculation 
based on satellite photos that Type 093 submarine has been improved.<br />
However, all the above is but speculation as there has so far been no
 official information about the new submarine, not even about its exact 
type.<br />

In terms of practical uses, the 
researchers suggest that this way of generating light could be used in 
microchip technology. Using light instead of flowing electrons to move 
and store data could push operating speeds up to vastly higher levels

 the reduced speed of photons - particles of light - moving through the 
sheet of graphene happened to be very close to the speed of electrons as
 they moved through the same material.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">These two speeds were similar enough that significant interactions might occur between the two kinds of particles. </span></div>
<div class="mol-para-with-font">
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">That
 combination of properties - slowing down light and allowing electrons 
to move very fast - is one of the unusual properties of graphene.</span></div>
<div class="mol-para-with-font">
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">However,
 instead of trapping light, the researchers think these findings could 
be used to produce the opposite effect - to produce light.</span></div>

 Soljačić, one of the scientists involved, said: 'This conversion is 
made possible because the electronic speed can approach the light speed 
in graphene, breaking the light barrier. </span></div>

Earth, because it only works when objects are moving close to the speed

to harness this effect in a practical form, the researchers say. </span></div>

Nevada because we will be helping them to test and validate their

 firm has revealed  a collaboration with Lung Biotechnology PBC to 
develop and purchase up to 1,000 units of an evolved version of the 184,
 the world's first autonomous drone for humans, to automate organ 
transplant delivery.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The two 
companies have agreed to work together over the course of the next 
fifteen years to optimize the 184 for organ deliveries, a program which 
they are calling the Manufactured Organ Transport Helicopter (MOTH) 
system.  </span></div>
<div class="mol-para-with-font">
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Lung
 Biotechnology specializes in manufacturing lungs and other organs for 
transplant using a variety of technologies, including pig-to-human 
xenotransplantation, as well as regenerating them from stem cells. </span></div>
<div class="mol-para-with-font">
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">It
 plans to station the MOTH rotorcrafts outside of its organ 
manufacturing facilities, and use preprogrammed flight plans to 
hospitals and re-charging pads within the MOTH radius so that the 
manufactured organs can be delivered within their post-production window
 of viability. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">This huge shift in organ production and delivery has the potential to save tens of thousands of lives.</span></div>

 organ transplants are limited by the number of brain-dead donors, which

from horse and carriage to vehicles people had the same concerns of

 the China and set up a command center there, where it will employ

<br /><span style="font-size: small;">These systems combine real-time data collected from sensors throughout the flight and automatically plot the fastest and safest route to carry passengers to their destinations.<br />The EHang 184 has built in reinforcements for all flight systems, so that in the unlikely event that a component does fail, multiple backups are already in place to seamlessly take over. <br />The fully ready-to-fly 184 is a manned drone capable of automatically carrying a passenger through the air, simply by entering a destination into its accompanying smartphone app<br />EHang's independently developed Fail-Safe System ensures that if any components malfunction, or if there's damage while the AAV is in-flight (i.e. from a bird), the aircraft will immediately begin taking the necessary precautions to ensure safety. <br /><br />The 184's Fail-Safe System automatically evaluates the damage and determines whether the AAV will need to land to ensure its passenger's safety.<br />The EHang 184 AAV flight control systems have multiple sets of sensors that provide the drone a constant stream of real-time data.<br />The 184's communication system was also designed with a safety guarantee: every system is encrypted, and each AAV comes with an independent key.<br />In the event of an emergency, passengers can elect to halt flight and simply hover in the air with just one click. </span><br />
