The United States was naive to believe that the emergence of joint 
attack fighter planes would reduce opportunities for other fighters, but
 the fact is that more and more competitors, <br />
F-35 become dominant global
 demand for military aircraft farther and farther.<br />
<br />
But in recent 
years, countries around the world have renewed interest in fighter 
aircraft substitutes, many of which may not be able to invest in the 
five generation of American warplanes.<br />
<br />
According to <b>AvascentAnalytics</b> 
data, the total number of ongoing or potential competition fighter 
models, bombers and attack aircraft, a total of 54.<br />
There are 21 
competitors with only a certain strength, including 7 in Asia, 4 in the 
Americas, 8 in Europe, 2 in the Middle East and North africa.<br />
Overall, 
the total value of the aircraft development projects in these areas 
between 2011 and 2027 was $106 billion 700 million.<br />

<strong>Still mysterious American air force future bomber</strong><br />
Details
 of the American air force long-range strike bomber (known as the B 21 
bomber) are few and far between, but there is no doubt that the next ten
 years will have huge amounts of money to invest in the program.<br /><br />In
 October 2015, the air force awarded Northrop Grumman B-21 contract 
design. Most of the details of the plan are confidential, rarely 
disclosed details, but should progress more smoothly, Northrop recently 
quietly reached a milepost, end of the preliminary design review.<br />
<br />
<strong>Japan outlook for future technology</strong><br />More
 interesting work has taken place in Japan, where they are struggling to
 cope with China's fifth generation fighter aircraft and other advanced 
platforms in the region.<br />

"Earlier,
 F-2's programs were expensive, and they didn't get very good airplanes,
 but they did help technology innovation in the business sector," says 
Avascent, a market analyst at AaronLin.<br />

"The government has 
recognized the commercial value of the project and is now hoping that 
ATD-X (once X-2 is handed over to the government as MHI) serves as the 
fifth generation of technology platforms". The 2018 milestone is to 
determine whether Japan will acquire its fifth generation fighter 
through full domestic development, joint development with foreign 
partners or foreign "off the shelf" platforms.<br />
<br />
Of course, Japan's 
sixth generation fighter is another independent project, and is still in
 the conceptual stage. The sixth generation plan will draw some lessons 
from the fifth generation program, but, like other countries, Japan is 
still trying to figure out what defines the details of a sixth 
generation fighter.<br />
In accordance with Japan's defense ministry 
2010 project document, the concept of the sixth generation aircraft 
requires all the technology until about 2030-2050 years.<br />

Headquarters Air Force determined the top-ranked selections from more 
than 2,100 unique naming submissions. </span></div>

 B-21 is intended to operate in both conventional and nuclear roles, 
with the capability of penetrating and surviving in advanced air defense
 environments,' The Air Force said.</span></div>

bomber when Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James provided the world 
with the first glimpse of the project using an artist's rendering.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The rendering bears more than a passing resemblance to the Air Force's B-2 bomber, which is also made by Northrop Grumman. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">However the new document reveals it may not be that accurate.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">'The released rendering shows a flying-wing design not dissimilar to the B-2, although simpler in shape. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">'It resembles early proposed designs that later evolved into the B-2.'</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The
 report also outlines the craft,s unmanned capabilities, saying 'Initial
 B-21s will be manned, with unmanned operation possible several years 
after initial operational capability (IOC).'</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Nuclear qualification will also take two years or so after IOC, the report says.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">It is designed to be launch from the continental US and deliver airstrikes on any location in the world. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The designation B-21 recognises the aircraft as the military’s first bomber of the 21st century.</span></div>

further legal action challenging the contract, Reuters said, citing two

 Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain on Thursday said he would
 block the Air Force's use of a cost-plus type of contract for the 
long-range bomber since it holds the government responsible for cost 
overruns.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">The
 Air Force says that only the engineering and development phase of the 
program, valued at $21.4 billion, is structured as a cost-plus contract 
with incentive fees.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">Analysts
 say the program will be worth around $80 billion in total, providing a 
boon to Northrop and its key suppliers, but the Air Force has said only 
that it expects to pay $511 million per plane.</span></div>

 Michael Loh, a retired four-star U.S. Air Force general, has urged the 
Air Force to name Northrop's suppliers to shore up support in Congress, 
and avoid a re-run of the B-2 bomber program, which was scaled back from
 132 planes to just 21, which drove the price of each plane sharply 
higher. </span></div>

 B-2 is the only U.S. aircraft that combines long range, large payload 
and stealth in a single platform, giving it the ability to project air 
power anywhere in the world. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">It can fly 6,000 nautical miles unrefueled and 10,000 nautical miles with just one aerial refueling.</span></div>

ordnance and deliver it precisely under any weather conditions, the B-2 
also has the ability to change the outcome of a conflict with a single

2008, of the Spirit of Kansas, which crashed while taking off from

 B-2s are currently based at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., home of the 
509th Bomb Wing, while one aircraft is assigned to flight testing at 
Edwards AFB, California to validate software and weapon systems

 idea is that the latest B-21 bomber, which is still on the drawing 
board will replace Air Force B-52 bombers, which have been flying for
