Type 83, 152mm tracked self-propelled howitzer. It was the first 152mm self-propelled howitzer which enters in service with the Chinese Armed Forces.

The Type 83 uses a modified version of the Type 66 gun, mounted on a tracked chassis Type 321.

The Type 83 has a maximum firing range of 17.2 km and it has a maximum rate of fire of 5 rounds per minute.
For its self-protection, a 12.7mm heavy machine gun is mounted on the roof of the turret.
