From 30 March to 3 April Admiral Rogel has visited China on an official visit.
He first was warmly welcomed by his Chinese counterpart in Beijing, Wu Shengli Admiral before traveling to Qingdao, Northern Fleet base to visit several ship units including the aircraft carrier Liaoning.
Back in Beijing, Admiral Rogel was received by the Chief of General Staff of the Liberation Army, General Fang Fenghui.
The relations between our two navies are part of a military strategic dialogue based on staff meetings on topics of common interest such as the fight against maritime piracy.
China is a major military actor who wants to strengthen its naval capabilities. It ensures the permanence of a naval group in the Indian Ocean and regularly deploys its buildings to the Mediterranean or Atlantic.
