Google has revealed a new app that could soon become your personal tour guide. The app, called Google Trips, provides users with daily itineraries for the top 200 cities in the world to help ‘reduce the hassle’ of planning a vacation. dailymail

Google Trips was revealed on the firm’s official blog, and is available for both Android and iOS.
The app will help to create personalized vacation plans, with itineraries that compile ‘popular sites, attractions, and local gems’ into a day trip.
It can also be used to plan your vacation around landmarks you’ve already decided to see, the blog explains.

‘Say your friends told you that you have to see the Sagrada Familia [Barcelona] – and you’re looking for suggestions on things to do around that spot,’ Stefan Frank, Product Manager for Google Trips, wrote in the blog post.
‘Press the “+” button in the day plans tile to jump into a map view containing all the top attractions in your destination.
'If you’re time constrained, you can specify above the map whether you have just the morning or afternoon, versus a full day.’

Once you’ve pinned your destination, the app will fill in your day plan for you. By tapping the ‘magic wand’ feature, you can see additional options for other nearby sites

If a new location is pinned, the itinerary will update to show the attractions surrounding it.
According to the firm, the app will also gather your reservations from Gmail and organize them into individual trips.

If a new location is pinned, the itinerary will update to show the attractions surrounding it. And, you won’t have to worry about getting caught abroad without WiFi – the trips can be downloaded straight to your phone so information can be accessed even when you’re offline

Both the itineraries and your reservations are available offline; to save them to your phone, just tap the ‘Download’ button beneath each trip.
‘Google Trips is a personalized tour guide in your pocket,’ the blog post explains.
‘Each trip contains key categories of information, including day plans, reservations, things to do, food & drink, and more, so you have everything you need at your fingertips.'
